Taff, just do whatever you like the look of mate.
IMPORTANTLY
Keep it simple. I say this as it's very easy to get bogged down with Napoloenics, take it from one who knows. The range out there is bewildering, it really is.
The manufacturers you've been quoted are all good and you shouldn't go too far wrong.
Consider also a firm called M Models, from Poland, high quality resin castings at a v reasonable price too.
Any questions, just ask, people on here are really approachable and knowledge too.

Hi! I also bought the book by L. Rousellot, paying it 60,00 €. (there is the English language version and the French language). For the Napoleonic fans is a book really complete and very detailed, I recommend it. You can find it on www.libreriamilitare.com or on www.amazon.it.
Cheers,
Andrea

Christ on a bik, that is one expensive book. You seen the prices of it on amazon? Cheers Pew just had a look at that site and they do some very nice products.

hi , Colin , how much is Lucien Roucellot's " Napoleon's Army 1798-1815 " which you mentioned ? Where can I buy the book ? If I remember correctly , there seems to be a e-version of the book. Thanks.
Here in Canada, the book runs about $120, new.... I paid $60 for a used one in good condition at a show. I've found the book to be invaluable as a source for French Napoleonics.

The defending the colours is fantastic Steve. Cheers for the recomend Mark, but ive decided the first one is the dismounted Lancer from Metal modeles.

Jonesy, the sum of all opinions results in an even better opinion :) In management schools this is called a supra nominal sum: The result is bigger than the sum :)

Past opinions are excellent, allow me to add mine too:

First and foremost the Poste Militaire range: They come from the 80's of the XX century, but still today and for future generations they will continue to be the reference bar and I mean THE REFERENCE BAR for good Napoleonic figures.

Second, may I suggest you take a look at the incredible Andrea Miniatures mounted 90mm pieces. Look at this figure:

Cazador-01.jpg

An absolute killer! You can find it here, together with some other breathtaking friends:

Their foot range also has some dazzling miniatures, look this 90mm:

And this 54mm:

You can also dig the Pegaso range. This classic made in the late 90's by Victor Konnov is one of the finest Napoleonic figures ever made:

The Pegaso range is not just as prolific as Andrea. However there are still around 40 figures. Here are they:

Well, these ranges are already quite vast to start. Nevertheless there are too many manufacturers that offer extremely nice Napoleonic figures. One of the finest of the last years to me is this bust from Alexandros models:

Simply breathtaking miniature! I have this miniature, and the right hand inside the sleeve is one of the finest hands I ever recall in a miniature (and it is hidden!!!) The realism is in a completely different dimension.

Well, just to end, if your core is busts, you may wish to return to the Andrea range. This one dates from 2000 and is a lovely miniature:

The rest of the range I will leave for you to discover :)

Happy modelling and don't forget to show your work!

Guys thank you all so much for the suggestions, however I feel the way ahead is definitely with 75mm and above as I'm sick of doing tiny GW miniatures and plan on keeping my eye sight til 40.
