Chaps, I know I have just got back from Euro but I thought I would ask for some advice. Next year may be a different type of show for some friends and I.
I would like to know members thoughts on which are the best shows in Germany and across Europe.

Don

Hi Don,
how are you doing mate ?? You got back home safe and sound then ??
The only strictly figure show in Germany in 2012 Don, is Duke of Bavaria show in Ingolstadt from 27th-29th April 2012.
This is an excellent figure show with competitors from all around the world and the location (Bavarian army museum) is a dream.
The hospitality is second to none.
Kulmbach is only held every 2 years so the next one is 2013.
Regards
Pete

Don,
I can only speak for myself, but i think our show in march will be a good one. That's the AMSS show in Antwerp. The guys of the Basement go there.
And ofcourse the Duke of Bavaria is a good one.

Im also interested to go to Germany. I wouldnt not mind Ingolstadt where the Swedes once where stopped, but also something more close to the Baltic Sea is of interest. For me figures and armour are the main subject but occasionally I do cars, ships and wingy things.

Cheers

Thanks for your replies guys. Looks like we will have to think about the "Duke of Bavaria" for next year and Kulmbach for 2013. Thanks for the information Pete. Glad you had a good Euro!
Antwerp sounds well worth a visit Mark, have been there quite a few times with work but never to the show. Will have to see how much money the government leave me for the year.

Hi Don, I have twice been to Antwerp and can recommend the show, great standard of exhibits and a very nice atmosphere..................I hear that the Sevres show in Paris around November time is also worth a visit.

Marc, do you have the dates for Antwerp 2012?

Keith

If you like the whole package of modelling, not only figures but AFV as well, then you should come to "Scale Model Challenge 2012" on october 14th, which will be held in Veldhoven in The Netherlands (near Eindhoven airport and prob. hour and a half from Amsterdam).
It's one of the biggest shows with high quality models. (Trade-area is about 4 times bigger then Euro). Figures are always a little bit lesser in quantity then shows like Antwerp or Euro but it's the biggest growing category every year.

The 2011 show is next weekend, so all details are on our website right now and photo's of 2011 will be available a couple of days later. I'll post some on this forum when ready.
So you can get an impression what it's like.

Check our website: www.scalemodelfactory.nl and press button SMC 2011

Thanks for all the information guys. Now we have the bigger problem of deciding which ones to visit.
Partick will check on your site but I believe we may be a bit late for this year.
Keith I know Stevie pretty well so I will follow your idea and will find out more from Stevie. Isnt Euro a bit empty without him?
