My good friend, Tomas Castano, was kind enough to send me a copy of his latest 54mm Mounted Gothic Knight. A beautifully sculpted rendition of this classic Knight In Shining Armor. The kit comes in Seil’s well packaged heavy sturdy box with a slip-cover over the box with a photo of the box art. All parts are sandwiched between heavy foam for protection.

The small parts are enclosed in a separate bag for loss prevention during shipping.

The knight is beautifully sculpted with attention to detail that Tomas is famous for. The knight comes in 4 basic parts with more parts to add additional detail. Dry fitting the upper and lower parts and arms show the parts to fit snuggly and seam lines are at a minimum and not in hard to get places. Excellent casting by Seil Models keeps the clean-up to a minimum. The locarer lug under the knight helps create an exact fit when the knight is placed on the horse.

The horse is another beautiful sculpting in its own right with small seam lines and minimal clean-up needed. All parts fit snuggly when dry-fitted.

The parts, reins and stirrups, are packaged separately in a blister envelope.

The figure comes with a pre-drilled white metal base.

The painting guide shows the four sides to the Gothic Knight.

Seil has also included an etched brass name plate along with 4 screws for attaching the name plate to a wooden base. (nice touch)

Conclusion

An excellent figure of the Gothic Knight done in 54mm with above average detail and casting. Highly recommended.

Hello Guy,
We are doing the same figure i supose ??
Your revieuw is very good, mine take's more time because i have to deal with some more work what i didn't calculate.
Are you painting the metals, or polish it. I'm curious. I thought i polish mine but it is to difficult..

Looking forward to your's

Very nice figure and a good review to.

Now do I go and get one of these, or do I start the Andrea version I've had for a while now???

Nah, bugger it, I will have to do both of them.

Cheers Jason

Thanks for the feedback guys, This is an exceptional kit and I look forward to painting it later this year.
