Hello guys..just a reminder that the Gravesham Military Modelling Society Open Day 2006 is at a new venue and is a 'must go' for any modeller in this corner of the modelling world. The guys at Gravesham do a great job of running a super smooth and friendly show, with a great competition that is always of the highest quality.

This year, the show has been re-located to a larger venue to accomodate the extra club stands and traders so there should be a great atmosphere. If you're within shooting distance of this show you'll want to be there...

Links to large detailed maps can be found at the top of my homepage right here..!!
North West Kent College, Dering Way, Gravesend, Kent.
It all starts around 10.30 and there's lots of free parking on campus..

Hope to see some of you there..All the best...Roy.

A special message to one of my best mate's, Ray Osborne...'Click on the REGISTER button at the top of the page' ;)

Hi Roy
I'd love to come but it's too far away for me.
Any of your troops and your goodself thinking of going to the Darlington show which means we meet halfway. It's not in until April and although it's only a one day show, it's a really good day out,and i believe that Marjin van Gils is going to be doing a demo which can't be bad.All the top Jocks will be going and some really good painters and modellers usually attend. It event is held in a centre that has really good meals and as an added bonus it's got a boozers!
Worth thinking about me old son.
Brian

Hi Roy

I dont think I want to miss this one... :)

Hi Brian, please could you give me a few more details about the darlington show, I was thinking of making the trip up as long as it doesn’t clash with the Welling show...

Thanks

Dave

Hi all
Will try and get to Gravesham... a show i have never attended....shame on me ;)

Darlington might be a bit more difficult .. will try and sort it out nearer the time

By the way The Letchworth show is just around the corner
its on the 29th October ..really hope some of you can make it

good to see you there

Frank

Sorry guys
I would love to attend but its a bit far away for me ( I make an exception for Euro ) and I agree with Brian about Darlington, I made the trip this year and there was a demo from Adrian Hopwood as well as plenty of trade stands and friendly banter. I cant wait for next year especially if Marjin van Gils is doing the demo.
Anyway hope its a cracking show for you Gravesham boys :)
Steve

Brian, me and Dave almost drove up to Darlington last year, but in the end had to give it a miss...it's a fair old drive, maybe we should look at taking the train in future...but we'd both like to get there if we can.

Frank, if you can possibly make the Gravesham show, you would love it...it's a real friendly affair, and runs smooth as silk..be great to see you there if you can make it, I know you'll have a great day...and you won't stop us getting to Letchworth...it's a great little show...and part of our regular calender of events.

Steve, you're right...that's a long journey...but for Euro..we would all go the extra mile...we'll catch up with you at a show sooner or later.

All the best guys....Roy.

Hello guys....I just wanted to say a big thank you to the Gravesham Club for a really excellent show...Gravesham is always an enjoyable event and this years show with the new venue was extra special...we had a great day out and met many old friends...it was such a friendly atmosphere, we couldn't have wished for a better day...it was excellent all round...Congratulations Gravesham for hosting the ideal model show..!!

I'm sure some pictures will follow..there were a few cameras about..Malcolm Cumming was shooting some for The Basement so watch out for those

Best of show went to our own Dave Maddox (Figure Mad) with this piece...Well Done Mate..!! No picture can do this piece justice...!!

Hi Guys

Thanks very much for the compliments, It was a brilliant show, with a great deal of brilliantly painted and sculpted figures and some awsome AFV classes. It was a great shock to get the BOS, there was some brilliant pieces from some great painters like Callum Talbot and Rob Hendon and of course Geoff Isley...

Just a brilliant show all round...
