Hi everyone, I'm very happy to finally get off my butt and join this community! I'm not a very accomplished sculptor or figure painter, but I am interested and have dabbled, and I wish very much to learn and develop skills in this most challenging niche of my beloved hobby.

I've been working as a pattern maker since 1997, mostly designing masters for Verlinden Productions, but also a bit of stuff for Cutting Edge and MiG Productions. I'm mostly interested in aircraft and armor, with an emphasis on post WWII middle eastern conflicts, again emphasizing a specific interest in the Iranian military. I'm also interested in figures, which is what has brought me here, both to compliment my aircraft & armor models, and also as stand alone pieces.

Besides making my own miniatures, my favorite thing about this hobby is viewing the quality work of my peers, which both inspires and instructs me. I've seen some incredible examples of artistic talent displayed on this website. I'm very excited to finally join this esteemed community, and my goal is to eventually develop my skills to a point where I may serve as inspiration for others like myself now....

Welcome Charles!

You are right down the road from where the 2011 Workshop is being held over Memorial weekend. Might be worth the trip to the hobby shop to meet some folks.

Ummm, what I think Charlie meant to say was he is a VERY!!!!! accomplished pattern maker!. For those of us who build armor models and if you have used a Verlinden update set, chances are you know Charlie Pritchett's work.

Glad to have you aboard Charlie and I hear you're going to attend the workshop? Look forward to seeing you there.

Don't be shy, yes this is a figure related site however no one here has a problem with looking at armor. Post some pictures of your masters (if allowed) as well as a few pictures of your work.

Thanks for the welcome!

Gordy, you're right: it is about time I finally joined this community! I must say, I am impressed with what you have created here! ALL of you ;)

Yes, fortunately I am able to attend the upcoming figure painting workshop. I'm absolutely thrilled about it!!!

Thanks for the kudos Jim, I didn't want to just barge in and start bragging, but yeah, chances are you know at least some of my work through the VP range. I don't claim to be the best, but I do claim to do my best with what I have to work with, and also I must add that I learned a HELL of a lot from my peers, with a special shout out to Gordy (y)

Again, I'm very happy to be here, and I hope that I will be able to live up to the reputation that seems to precede me :p

This is awesome! Smileys even!
