This is my last 54mm piece, I really enjoyed painting this one, has a dramatic pose and is extremly well sculpted. The shield is painted by hand, as I was inspired by a foto from some figure show, so I decided to paint similiar scorpion. To make it more interesting I made a crab in that scale. It was really fun with this. Hope you´ll like it

Well done. The crab is a fun touch! But don't they only turn red like that after they've been cooked? :) Maybe I'm just a bit hungry.......Fun stuff!

I´ve seen live red crabs from the tropics but don´t know of any this colour from the Mediterranean unless they´ve been boiled.

It´s a very nice (scratchbuilt?) detail complementing a very nice model and can quickly be altered with a light basecoat and some green-brown washes.

Congrats Robert for the nice painting. I especially liked the painting of right arm that brings the well sculpted muscle details in sight. About the red crabs; I remembered I have seen them in Turkey years ago and made a little search. Canser pagurus-edible crab is a species living also in Mediterrenean and is reddish maybe more brown.

On the other hand, I feel the one on this figure base is a usual crab :) painted red by the blood on the sea after a deadly battle.
Best regards

Thank you all guys:D I am pleased, that you like my work.
well, hm..the crab, I must apologise, that it is more reddish than the real one,but I put it together within 2hours, it consist of 22 pieces of wire an plastik pieces and I was quite sick off it (it cost me a lot of patience),so I wanted to have it already done, so maybe it doesn´t look like the real mediterranean crab, but in fact I´m lucky, that it actually looks like a crab:D :D :D
