Hello to everyone from the USA, Pennsylvania to be exact.
30 years ago I started painting figures with oil paints and I had been away from it for many years. I’ve only recently started painting again only this time with acrylics and what a fun journey it has been.

My name is Steve and I’am quite honored to be a part of this wonderful group of artists.

Hi Steve

A BIG WELCOME to PF from me good to have you here

What’s your areas of interest , plenty of variety here !

Great to have you with us , ( I only do busts ! )....share the PF word , all are very welcome to join ..no matter what's modelled with figures, fantasy , warhammer, war game figures

Have a good look around and enjoy

Do ask anything someone will know...feel free to message me with questions

Lots of different sections to look at including traditional and 3 D sculpting , competitions , WIP's , References , Painting techniques and so much more

There are threads in Welcome Aboard about how to do things including posting pics on PF but do contact me always happy to help

We have a Marketplace where after members have contributed 50+ posts can use to sell , request if anyone has a model to sell etc...You might also pick up some rather good bargains !

Welcome to the Planet, Steve! Where are you in PA? I'm in Bethlehem, and I'm a member of the Miniature Figure Collectors of America (MFCA). We meet monthly at AAA Hobbies in Magnolia, NJ (outside Cherry Hill, and not far from Philly), and we stage an annual show. If you've never visited, I invite you to, I think you'd enjoy meeting up with other figure painters.

I look forward to seeing your work!

Prost!
Brad

Welcome aboard, the coat closet is too the right and the bar is down one step straight ahead. Look for all the heads bent over a figure and cursing because their brush slipped.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome , sorry for the delayed response but my leisure time during summer months is restricted due to that dreaded yard and garden work.

I’d like to thank Kev for pointing me in this direction, the work here is truly amazing and I’am proud to be a part.

Brad I’am not far from you, Slatington and the last time I visited MFCA was 1996 when Phil Kessling was the photographer for the event.

Best,
Steve!

Slatington! Yeah, just up the road! You might be interested in visiting our Lehigh Valley Scale Modelers, then, too. We meet every other Wednesday-ambitious schedule, I know!-at the Catasauqua Borough Hall at 6:30PM. You are cordially invited! Despite the name, we cover all interests, including figures. We use a Facebook group as our forum, so if you use Facebook, feel free to have a look and join the group!

As far as the MFCA goes, well, it's high time we see you again! We just had our August meeting this past weekend, but there's still September and October before our schedule ends. At the September meeting, Paul Keefe will give a presentation on diorama scenery techniques. We have presentations for about half our meetings, and the other meetings are build-and-paint meetings, where we just, well, build and paint. Everyone is encouraged to bring something to show, too, whether it's a finished work, a work in progress, or anything else related to the hobby. If you do visit either club, please introduce yourself to me, I look forward to meeting you!

We also use a Facebook group as a forum, and again, if you're on Facebook, I encourage you to join and engage with the rest of the gang!

Prost!

Brad thank you for the invitations! I was going to travel to this past MFCA show but I had to work. I look forward to possibly going to a meeting or two and definitely look forward to meeting you in person.

Even though I’am semi retired I still work 4 days a week it’s usually afternoons and Saturdays which takes a lot of my time unfortunately
