Hi all,
I recently joined a couple of figure groups on Facebook, and with a warm and friendly greeting I've been encouraged to check out and join the site.
So! I'm Vlad, I've been modelling since I was a kid, usually armour, a few ships and stringbags to mix things up. Also an historical tabletop wargamer........ far too many projects!
With that said I have decided to have a go at some larger scale figures, 54mm seems to be my sweetspot, this due to having built some Historex figures (badly) when I was younger, and now with a bit more experience etc under my belt, thought it time to have another go!
Definitely a different painting technique involved, and on a steep learning curve at the moment, but found it very enjoyable.
*edit* need to perfect painting straight lines!
As to period, very much like the black powder/ horse and musket, predominantly Napoleonics, AWI is another favourite.
Anyway, I will refrain from dribbling on further and leave you with pictures of my first Historex figure in about 40 years!
Cheers
Vlad
