Finished my 200mm St. Cyr bust and my next project is at the other end of the scale range. As soon as I saw these 28mm Duellist figures by the Perrys I ordered them. The Duellists is still my favourite film decades after initial viewing. So I’ll be painting these fellows in the iron grey and silver of the 3e Hussards and the red, green and gold of the 7e.

For interest, here are Perry’s sculpted “greens” and a maker’s painted example used for catalogue purposes.

A very interesting project, from the enormous to the tiny! The Perry twins do produce some lovely figures, even though 28mm figures these days have to be rather "stylized" (oh for the days of Hinton Hunt.....)

Same here ......the shame of it haven’t see The Duellists ....need to sort that out

The Lt is coming on nicely Colin , like the shirt on him

Looking forward to seeing more

Have fun @ the bench

Your screen name is Nap and you haven’t seen “The Duellists!?!?” All I can say is you have an extraordinary pleasure awaiting. My favourite film of all time.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Your painting is more "subtle" than Alan's which is already of a good level, so I think the final result of the diorama will be excellent!!

What an excellent project, 28mm Perrys are my bread and butter figures from my build.

@Nigel…I’m lucky my eyes still allow me to do 28’s at a level of detail I’m happy with at age 67. The advantages of being near sited.

@Bran Thank you. Alan’s painting is terrific so if I get to that level I’m happy. I called this a vignette but I expect you are right in calling it a diorama given the 7 figure cast.

@Waterlooman Glad you find it interesting. We agree that Perry’s are terrific figs…my bread and butter at this scale too although I also like Gringo40s. I want to try Piano as well.
