Hi guys, I'm Steve, I have just recently retired form the British Army after 25 years. I used to enjoy the hobby several years ago, but I got tired of packing everything up and moving every couple of years. So now I'm trying to get into the swing of it again after a hiatus of 15 years! Look forward to meeting you all in the forums.

Again thanks very much Del, I've been back in Scotland since May and it's the longest I've spent here since I was 16! Spent my last 2 years in the Czech Rep and the three before that based in Cyprus, .

So basically what you were doing was topping up your tan and drinking Pilzner ;)
Not huge numbers of serious historical figure painters in Scotland. There's a handful of us in and around Glasgow, same in Edinburgh, a couple of weird guys from Carnoustie and Perth (Gellso and Barrie) but they do the Wicker Man stuff up there so don't contact them unless you fancy ending up a basket case :)

At -27 last winter, I would hardly call it topping up my tan! The snow finally thawed in April, but the pilsner is excellent and very cheap too! I'm in Strathaven btw.

Our wee group is not what you'd call a club, we attend Euro and Sword and Lance every year and have started visiting the Herzog von Bayern show in Ingolstadt.
There's me from the Southside of Glasgow, Davie Mitchell from Blantyre, Brian Snaddon and Don Mathieson from Stewarton and Ron Tamburrini from Bearsden.

Hi Steve welcome to the planet ,but must warn you Father jack has a wicked tongue and wit ,what ever you do don't let him hear your confession :D

Hi and welcome Steve,
I've not long got into the hobby after spending years of giving my husband "opinions".
I'm also in Scotland, Kilbirnie, North Ayrshire.
So far I have had some great advice to get me started and been to a few shows around here ie Glasgow and Perth.
