I’ve been away from this hobby for about 20 years and have recently decided to pick up where I left off. Problem is, my eyes aren’t what they used to be, but magnifying lenses may help in that regard.

Looking over the site, I’m really amazed at where the market has gone since I bowed out. It was almost all white metal in 90mm or less in my day. Today’s large scale resin figures are what piqued my interest in picking up a brush again, but I have a year or two of work on unfinished pieces that I will tackle first.

I’m happy to have found the forum, and look forward to associating with you all in the future.

Thanks, Gordy.

I'm really not sure what made me stop painting, but I suspect it was the classic issue of limited free time due to a focus on career-building and family demands.

Whatever it was, I obviously thought I might come back to it at some point because I kept a few favorite pieces, some half-finished projects, a couple of never-been-opened figures, and all the tools of the "trade." It took me two days to find the boxes I had put away, but when I cracked them open, it was like I'd never stopped.

I hear that Mark, I've put painting down since my son was born in 2000 (also for the sake of safety) Now he is older I'm anxious to get back into it. I haven't stopped sculpting during this time though ;)

Hi Mark i know how it feels just started up again myself (after30 odd years) same reasons as you but i am certain we will get back at it .and i agree things have changed keep in touch all the best Keith
