As a follow up to the rather heated debate recently, I have at last got my references in order and will show.
This is not intended to relight the debate, nor will I engage in one.
This is my final say on the subject, but as can be seen the colour on my Imperial Guard bust is correct according to these references.
As a foot note, it is also interesting to see Ernest Crofts portraying the colour identical to mine, complete with tatters, although I realise that we cannot always rely on artists renditions.
It clearly states a simple design and with wording for both sides. It also states the new issue colour to the 1st Grenadiers.
My reference, here is Flags of the Napoleonc Wars 1, by Terence Wise and Guido Rosignoli.

Aaah
One of my favourite paintings and it's
only a 10 minute walk away from me in
the Walker Art Gallery here in Liverpool.
I have always been convinced that the Grenadier
with the hand on his right shoulder is the one
chosen by the sculptor to be the famous
Airfix grenadier kit

Salut mon brave.

I think so to Paul, both the 54mm and the 1/12 version.
I never knew it was in Liverpool, my wife is from Warrington and I have visited Liverpool many times, I will again for sure now :)
Best wishes

Oh dear !
Good job we don't need quality paintings here then,
like drab unexciting matchstick men 'all in proportion' in dreary
grey salford backgrounds.
Sor'ed
We'll just make do with our holbeins and pre-raphealites and other junk then !
Love and best wishes across the cultural divide to an obvious
jeremy clarkson fane from your friendly neighbourhood scotsman !
Please do not call me english hahaha
Paul

If you want to see a really good Napoleonic painting Paul 'Ney at the retreat from Moscow' belongs to us here in Manchester, as does Lady Butler's 'Return from the Charge'. I also have to admit that for horse painting a Scouse, George Stubbs, is the best. We also have his 'hunting leopard'.
Tom

All wonderful Tom, I agree, there's wonderful paintings all over the country
and a wonderful heritage in all corners of the nation.
I'd love to see more Russian historical military art,
and you have the advantage over me having visited.
Are there any Russian painters you would add of historical subjects?
Paul

Thanks Roger,
The colours depicted there are as was argued to be correct, but as posted go against the references I have posted.
Best wishes

Gra, the intention wasn't to stir up the debate again, I found the page while looking for something else and thought it might be of interest. To tell the truth I couldn't remember who's references were whose. :D
Even if you disregard the flag they're not bad uniform plates. :)

No worries billy, I know you from old mate and know you never would do that. Was just saying there are differing references , at least now there are references on both sides and anyone can depict as they like . I only posted to show I didn't make it up lol :)
No worries mate and best wishes
