I really do love sculpting hair, and it's good to see how others approach it. I've never seen that method of applying the details through the plastic wrap though.
I reckon there must be as many ways to achieve a certain effect as there are sculptors.

Thanks Gary, I really enjoy doing hair too and it's always interesting seeing how others approach a given sculpting task. Good to see it's not just with my own work where the early stages look like crap before it begins to look halfway decent!

I've seen the tip of working through plastic wrap before on something although I can't remember what. For smoother hairstyles I usually wipe a damp finger over the textured putty near the end of the working time to flatten it lightly and make it look a little more homogenous, with a softer material like SS I can see how that might not work so this could be useful.
