Well there was a little use of oils at the start, I applied some glazes at the start, over the acrylic base coat.
This gave me a good contrast to build on with the acrylics, a bit of an experiment, but it seems to be working.

I had a picture in my mind of what I wanted to achieve, but its come out very different, fingers crossed it will look ok, when it finished.

Hi Nap. I thought I'd see how the acrylics turned out before considering oils.
At this stage, I think the acrylics look ok.

When I returned to the bench yesterday all the highlights I'd worked on the previous day looked to had faded away, so I needed to do it all again.
This time I used a slightly lighter shade, seems to look ok.
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Simon, I'm quite pleased with the moustache, it has come out well.
I've still a little work to do on the hair, but not too much as I'll be fitting the hat later on.

No work today though, on Grandad duty watching Paw Patrol with my grandson.

We have two granddaughters starting school and my grandson will be starting nursery.
I'll still be on Grandad duty on Tuesday's for my Grandson and his younger sister.
It'll be a couple of years before we get our Tuesday's back when they'll all be at school.

Thanks Nap.

The mix for the hair is: Prior to painting the basecoat washes of Black were applied to go into the crevice's . Scale 75 Thar Brown with Mojave White with a small amount of Vallejo Yellow Ochre. Black was applied to the base mix to add additional shadows were necessary.
To finish off Scale 75 Flat White was carefully dry brushed to lighten and bring out the detail.

My apologies for the lack of updates, I've not been able to get to the bench due to unforeseen circumstances.

Cheers Nap. I think it may be a few days before I can back to the bench, we're helping family out by doing some additional babysitting.
