I've started this conversion of the old Ademola 22 Teutonic Standardbearer 200mm bust into a Polish Halberdier.
I've changed the headgear, added straps and looted sword and of course the weapon.
Just undercoated at this stage but I think I'll add some facial hair before painting and perhaps a bag of loot slung over the shoulder.
This piece will represent a battle weary soldier who has been busy looting the slain enemy when the rallied enemy forces return.

This is how it looks so far, any comments welcome....

That looks brilliant Mark.
Really looking forward to seeing it develop, only comment is I would shorten the staff slightly between the halberd head and the figures hand.
I find that it draws the eye away from the whole composition at its current length.
Cheers

Hello Mark, your version is much more better. The original bust is one of my favourites and I am quite sad I have to say it is a 'Level B' when it's standing next to yours one. (y)

Thank you all for your encouraging comments on this piece,..very much appreciated.
I have used the Andrea pieces identified by Tony and Zane, and it's the first time I've ever used real leather for the straps, belts etc.
The cogs are turning slowly but they're turning Xenofon...cheers mate.

Thanks again everyone,........better get it back on the bench and slap some paint on it!!........cheers.
