Hi Folks,

I dont know if anyone else has noticed, but I recently bought a large can of my favourite grey primer from Halfords and what a disappointment! What used to be a dark blueish grey with excellent coverage and quick drying is now a light grey, watery consistency which takes an eternity to dry!

I know that Halfords has changed its paint numbers and dropped the manufacturer's paint names on their gloss range, it also looks like theyve changed their supplier/manufacturer. And not for the best...... sadly, a pale imitation of the quality product it was!

I've not used the grey, I do use their matte white primer, I have done for years, with zero problems. I've said on here before, that I'm convinced it's the same stuff as the GW Chaos White primer. At one point I did compare the two directly, side by side. I could not see any difference whatsoever - apart from the price. It wouldn't surprise me if Halford's have gone the way of most other things - charging the same for a ***** product. Supermarkets have been doing it for years. Rant over!

My grey is just about used so I need to replace it, before my mobility got really bad I used to go to the Pound Shop and use their grey primer. Though it was hit and miss if they had any, that worked better than the expensive Halfords stuff, I just can't get there these days.

Cheers Simon
