RP Models Harald Hardrada, painted it acrylics
I wanted the bird to be a raven, so to make it a bit more convincing sculpted extended wingtips and a new beak. I went with just a simple hemp leash. Beats explaining to a wide eyed child, with easily offended parents at a model show, why " the man is setting the birdy on fire".
The inspiration for the sword blade from a Facebook page dedicated to Saxon re-enactors. I was initially thinking of making bronze scale armour, but was fortunate to catch up with a Varangian Guard re-enactment group at a Medieval festival. They pointed out that bronze plates would shatter under impact, making it a real liability so went with steel plates painted with Scale 75's Metal N' Alchemy set.
