Thanks a swralph and Dennis for the nice comments...very appreciate!

Best!

Luiz.

Very good job on the camo.
The jungle foliage seems out of place if this takes place on Tarawa(Betio), which I believe operation Galvanic was all about. Any photos or film form that invasion show an island with scarce jungle vegetation. I'd refer you to the Eric Hammel pictorial on Tarawa.
Great job though on this figure.

...yes Ed,I agree with you about Tarawa, but this scene recriates the first days of the campaign , where the vegetation still was good ...

Just an FYI. Betio island was part of a coral atoll (Tarawa) so it was mostly sand and did not have this thickness of vegetation to begin with. Basically palm trees and scrub. The Japanese had worked on it for many months turning it into a fortress, so many of the trees had been used for constructing bunkers (lots of stumps), and sand covered many of their emplacements. It was bombarded and bombed for several hours so by the time the Marines came ashore, it was shattered palm trees and palm fronds on the ground, and sand. The entire battle only lasted 3 days. This kind of vegetation would be more appropriate for Guadalcanal, or the earlier jungle island campaigns. Your figure is very well done

Excellent piece of work Luiz!
I like this figure a lot to start with, and your painting has really brought him to life.
I also very much like the groundwork and how you placed the figure in it.

Nicely painted camouflage and groundwork. I think the skin tones need more shading though. A very nice figure overall.

Great job on a great figure. I only wish you subdued the camo colors a bit.

Well done,
Mario
