Hello friends of planetfigure,
I have in my hands the latest release from the well known Greek company YS Masterpieces of Yiannis Sagiadinos (also well known for his castings). It is a bust of a very famous Greek Warrior from the Hellenic Revolution in 1821. His name is Athanasios Diakos and he is the 6th addition in Hellenic Historical Bust Series 1821 in 1/9th scale. It is casted in High Quality Grey Resin (11 pieces). The only thing that you need to do is to clean some small molding lines and go for painting. There are no molding blocks or air bubbles!!! Very impressive! The surface of this grey resin is very nice and the sculpting of Carl is awesome! The bust is almost half figure! Take a look at the following photos for more information and personal evaluation. I have also included some high resolution photos of the finished model of Danilo to help with the painting.

The painting that Danillo did is exceptional. In my humble opinion the figure stands or fall with the painting of the cape.
Danillo did that exceptional.
As I cannot achieve that kind of painting and I painted in the past this 92040596.jpg
So, I pass for this figure.
It looks like a twin with other clothing.
But that is my opinion.

Marc

However, Marc!... you have also achieved an exceptional quality of painting! Danilo, has done an exquisite job, with the cape! that is undeniable! which is, I would assess beyond 98% of the painters on here!. Both works are beyond my skill, yet both have there visual merits, and both are a huge pleasure to look at and study! ..Take heart !

Regards,

Mark

Mark - I agree with your response to Marc and most of us on here are mere mortals as far as painting goes. Some better than others but, my feelings are why buy it - if you can't paint it?? I think we all have several figures collecting dust waiting to be painted. I have all the others in this series but, I think I may pass on this one just because of the skill level needed to complete it!! Just my opinion!! Dave
