Hi all,
I'm Mart, originally from London but now in Brisbane. I've loved models and 'miniature worlds' since being a little kid and seeing those 'miniature worlds' they used to have at seaside attractions and min museums. As a kid built Airfix planes (I can still smell the Humbrol), then Citadel miniatures, and 1/43rd cars as a teen. Then like many I took a long, break. before getting back into the hobby in my forties with Sci-Fi kits, initially with Bandai's lovely Star Wars kits but about 5-6 years ago I saw my first Maschinen Krieger kit and was hooked.
I'm ok at building and painting Ma.K kits but I've always loved figures and have picked a few beautiful Ma.K 1/20 figures.
I've been really enjoying these figures but know I could do a lot better with some help and encouragement so I've joined Planet Figure to learn how to do justice to these lovely kits (and looking at the content here I know want to try a larger scale bust of *something*.
I've been enjoying trying out oils and have watched a bunch of YouTube vids but I'd be really grateful for any recommendations of a good beginners guide to painting figures with oils.
The content here is next level, so thanks for having me.
