Dimitrios.

For your fifht figure you have an extremly well done paintjob. The metals are real good.
I think that you must do more highlighting and shading. All the colours looks flat (no depth in it) . You can achive that by shading and highlighting.
Also the shield.
But above all, your start is very good. Now you got to go tweaking with colours. With the start you have done, i am very convinced that it is gonna work, i mean the paiting off figures. You are on the right track.
So keep painting.

Dimitrios, thanks for sharing your stuff with us. MArc is right with his advice about shading and I would endorse this. Your flesh tones are quite effective and that is a difficult thing to do. I'm sure there are modelling clubs in Athens and I'm sure they turn out some great stuff as well - there are some great Greek modellers about. Try to learn off them. It can be intimidating in this hobby when you are relatively new and you can see accomplished modelers' work and it is easy to think "I'll never be THAT good!" Hang in there and enjoy it, you will learn along the way. ;)

Dimitrios,
I think you're off to a great start! I think the yellows on the quilted armor are spot-on and shadowed and highlited nicely. I think your metals are nice, I also think the axe handle has a nice wood effect to it.

I would agree with the others, your highlight and shadows could be pushed a bit more for more contrast. I also think the leathers are a bit orange, I would work to tone them down a bit and work more towards a brownish worn leather feel with them. I think the shield looks pretty good over all. It is shaped nicely, but might be a bit on the thick side. Nicely done for your first effort though.

I might also suggest you "blend" your figures base into the groundwork just a bit more. I think you are going for a "standing on a rock" effect with the way you presented him, it just looks to me like it could be moved a bit closer to the center of the base and worked into the surrounding groundwork just a bit more.

Great effort for only your 5th figure. Keep it up! Practice makes perfect!!!!

Dimitri your painting is nice.I like your fleshtones and metals most.I echo Anthony and Marc about shading and highlighting, but your work is far more better of what you think.Keep up

Jay yes you are right i was going for the "standing on rock and looking far away" effect truly the base needs more work on the ground work something doesnt fit well

Dimitrios, GREAT START for your 5th figure !!! Your flesh tones and metallics are definitely WAY BETTER than my own 5th figure then. For improving on your groundwork, do check-out the work of your fellow Greek, Costas (aka Major Goose). In my humble opinion, the GREATEST groundwork master at the present moment !!! Looking forward to your next post, my friend. Cheers !
Kenneth.
