Hey there, Marc! Just in case you're interested, here are my formulas for fleshtones:
Base color: 2 parts burnt sienna + 1 part gold ochre + 1 part titanium white. Mix it up and then add an extremely small amount (as in "only the tip of a pin's worth) of raw umber to tone down the mix.
1st. shade: base mix + a bit of mars brown + a bit of brown madder alizarin.
2nd. shade: add sepia to the 1st. shade. This is a technique I picked up from the Zen Master of Painting in San Diego - Dave Hoffman. Works really well!
1st. Highlight: add a bit of jaune brilliant + a bit of titanium white to the base color.
2nd. Highlight: add more titanium white to the 1st. Highlight color.
After it's all dry - so let the head dry for at least 1 full day - trace out the deepest crevaces with straight sepia. These areas are typically the thinnest line at the deep of the crease between the cheek & lips, as well as the inner creases between the nose & each eye extending about 1/4 way down through under the eyelids. As for the "highest highlights," touch them up with y our 2nd. highlight mix - these are typically the tip of the nose, the top edge of the chin, the highest point on each chek right below teh eye socket, and just a small bit above each eyebrow.
Hope this helps,
