Hello Planeteers
I am currently, assembling and painting Metal Modeles mounted figure of the Marchel de Logis du 1st Regiment de Carabiners. Puzzled by the small parts shown. Identification and where do they go on the figure/horse most welcome.
Please forgive my poor photography, micro work and layout skills not great.
Yours,
Lightbob

Since I can't see a buckle, which I'd expect on the scabbard strap, my thought tends towards the stirrup strap,
Since it's Metal Modeles, you should have a series of photos of the completed model to aid you.
If not, you can find them HERE.

Cheers,
Andrew

Hello All,
Thanks for the suggestions.
I'm not going with the scabbard straps as the sections with the buckle comes attached.
I've looked at the pictures provided with kit and on Metal Modeles site and would have gone for stirrup straps or part of the harness but once again the straps come pre-fitted to the stirrups and cannot spot where else they might go.
This little, though irritating puzzle runs on. Perhaps they will end up in my spares box.
An e-mail went off to Metal Modeles as well, so might get an answer back from source.
Many Thanks,
Lightbob.

are the buckles for the sword, the parts have to be close over the ring of the sword scabbard. on the other side you can glue the strap

How much of that is actual part, and how much is pour plug/spruce/waste? Look like tassels to me.

This is a puzzle. The open-ended loops suggest that it's intended they clasp onto something, which would suggest the scabbard. But that doesn't look quite right. I'd agree - it's part of the tack for the horse.

these parts are definitely the studs for the sword
The open side will be closed on the scabbard rings and on the other side (on the flat surface) the sword suspension straps will be glued.
no doubt

The true and obvious answer to this puzzle will become apparent to you only after all other parts are attached, and the last detail is painted. Guaranteed. :(

Thanks for all of the above. The picture by ivopreda looks good but I'm still left with the "puzzle" of the scabbard rings already have a length of "leather" with buckle pre attached. Can feel the spares box coming nearer.
