Hi All, I need help identifying this figure. Nope, I could not tell you anything about it. I either got it at a show or in a trade. I do know it's missing it's right arm, and for some reason I have 3 heads??????. I'm not a sculpter nor do I want to try at this point. But I'd love the right arm and to know a little bit about what it is. HELP. Thanks in advance.

It looks like a English Civil War Parliamentarian Cavalry Trooper

Is there any ID marks on the base , might be Amati but definately not sure

Sorry can't be more helpful

Yep Naps right. It's 99.9% certainly the Amati 'Ironsides' figure.
The slight reservation is it looks to me to be a 'homer' hence the pretty rough casting and the 3 heads.
Don't consider this to be a recast it simply looks as if somebody has been having a shot at home casting.
Right arm should be a dawdle to sculpt, simply find a suitable 'donor' arm and tweak it

I was having a few reservations as to whether it was indeed the Amati figure as there are some small variations such as your heads do not appear to have a moustache, the hand rests differently on the hilt and there's a bit of variation on the belts.
I then remembered that at this time what was shown as box art often varied from the final castings either by manufacture or by the artist enhancing the figure.
Bobs point is well made the scale is important to IDing the piece accurately.
Cheers

I thought it could be that 75mm of yours in white metal Bob.:cautious:

Yes, it looks like the Imperial Gallery 75mm Ironside, and as it was only available in white metal it is a pirate rip off.

Yep that's it for sure ........ wouldn't be too bothered in this case Bob, it looks more like someone has been home casting to do some conversions.
It's so bad that I can't see any self respecting re-caster ;) marketing this rubbish.
If nothing else simply posting how bad this casting is would stop anyone seeing it from ever cosidering buying anything but an original.

Hi All, Ok after a closer look. There are no markings on the bottom of the base. And compared to known 75mm figures and it's 75mm. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Have to agree with Derek that its someones attempt to do a little casting experiment. You see a few of these attempts on Show flea market type tables now and then.

I do know it's missing it's right arm, and for some reason I have 3 heads??????.

Mark, if you have 3 heads, you really should see a doctor.:p See you next month in Atlanta.

Bob

Bob, yes I think I picked it up at our show one year. And unfortunately I will not be at the show this year. My step son is getting married on that date. Thanks everyone for the input.

Original piece, sculpt by Pete Moreton.

Thank You. The more and more I look at this figure, I'm sure it's a recast. I feel very bad about it. But at the time I was very new to this art and really didn't understand about this pirating type stuff. Once I do paint it I will give credit where credit is do on the sculptor. Thanks again for the help in figuring this piece out.
