The painters have done a great job, I do wonder if the pieces painted for box art are one of the resin sub masters.
I agree with all the above, it is a shame that the metal used gives the soft edges etc and due to price we are obviously going to compare and our wallets decide.
The masters I think have some clout, I would say to K+C, what would Pegaso do with these masters , now do the same and you are on a winner.
It would be quite easy as the sculpts have probably paid for themselves as collectors pre painted pieces alone, now cast for figure modellers, if that is your target, which obviously it is.

Hi,
Interesting review.....except....
"I would say to K+C, what would Pegaso do with these masters"
And that's all fine and dandy....only....you'd be saying it to the wrong company.
I did wonder why Eduardo anticipated the figure would be larger than what was found inside the box.
The castings would certainly have been a lot larger if this kit had been released by K&C - and the complaints such as they are....
....would have been howls of laughter.
Cheers

You are correct , I had the toy soldier head on , sorry I should have said First Legion
My apologies

Hi Guys ,

Its good to see the unpainted versions of these ..great review ....agree with the quality comment .looks like the similar metal used with the old BMSS figures .

Box Art seems to flatter them

Nice subjects though ..they are like Gra said unique ..price seems a bit high though

Thanks for sharing Edorta

Notwithstanding the comments about the quality of the figure, it's nice to see some British Napoleonic personality figures appearing on the market. Plenty of French marshals, but where are the British generals (and indeed the Prussians, Austrians and Russians)? Perhaps the waterloo anniversary next year will stimulate some production of more of these.

Continuing this forum, i ordered and receive the vignette, "Hunting the Grasshoppers", i will post a review. You could make your own opinion.
I bought it directly from First Legion. Price 109, 95 US$ + 44,95 US$, for 2 figure, base and a mounted Lancer, it's quite the same price as MM.
For the quality, i'm not really sure it's the same.
Other thing, what i really do not understand, it's a Russian brand, i ordered it in USA, it's come from US, but on the box, you read "Made in China".
Strange !!!!

As I understand it First Legion figures are sculpted by Russians and the master pattern is painted by a Russian. Production then moves to China as Gra30 knows. The figures are then cast and the painting copied in China. I was interested in seeing how the figures were broken down as I also make figures for a "toy soldier" company.
Martin

Sorry Martin, no offence meant.
I meant I had my companies confused as I class all the pre painted figures as toy / collectors market.
No insult was intended
Best wishes

You didn't insult me at all mate, I only mentioned you because, knowing the company you're doing work for, you know the production process (I worked for them when they were British;)) The only reason that I put toy soldier in quotations was that they aren't really toys. Well at least I don't know any kids that could afford them:) I have no pretensions about what I make, I enjoy them and I hope my customers do too:)

Hi all
Just purchased "Scottish Fury " And I must say I was happy with the Kit , the casting is good
Maybe not Pegaso but it is good The facial expressions are crisp and inspiring .
If I was just paying the cost price I would be a happy bunny but to have it sent to the UK is the down side
The shipping cost are a bit steep and then on top the good old HM Customs slapped a further Surprise £23.00 Vat charge on the package. So all in all an expensive selection more than previously mention Pegaso So be warned !
I believe there is to be a UK supplier announced Soon which may make them less pricey
The other problem is of course is they don't come painted like on the box and I'm fresh out of tartan paint does anyone know of a good suppliers of the same

Regards Terry
