Completed Critique Hero of Dixmude

Hello to all! I want to show the figure of "Fusilier marin" - a soldier of french naval brigade of admiral Ronarch. These brave soldiers won their glory in defence of belgian town "Dixmude" in november of 1914.

Figure from JMD miniatures with some alterations.
Painted with polyvinyl acetat tempera paints.

Outstanding work Dmitry, I really like the field-worn look

I'm not familiar with polyvinyl acetat tempera paint, the term 'tempera' paint in the US is similar to a powder pigment that is mixed with water.

Very nice work of this JMD figure.
You converted it very nice in a "Les Demoiselles au Pompon Rouge" the nickname for the French Marines. They where all killed in the 16 monts at the river the Yser.
But they hold the Germans side by side with the Belgians.
Really like what you have done.

gordy, the term "tempera" in Russia means water-thinned paint, like the acrylic and gouache paint at the same time.

megroot, "Les Demoiselles au Pompon Rouge" - yes, I know this nickname. But I didn`t know, that they were all killed. I saw photos of 1916 or 1917 and of 1918, where were depicted marins. Most likely, it were replacement of casualties of Naval brigade.

- The FM where I speak off is the brigade that whent into the war after clearing the city of Paris. They went to Melle where they first saw battle.
They go into the war with 6400 man and this ended in november 1915 with the dismanteling of the brigade. The Navy need these last men for the battle against the German Submarine's. This battle was heavy and there where no survivors at the end of the war of this brigade.
- Then we have the Bataljon des Fusiliers about 850 man who are in november under there own flag - they get there flag in januari 1915- at the Yser river to relieve and take the watchout. In that way the Frans Fusiliers Marins where there to hold a piece of the front where they pay alot for, and have all the rights for.
