Bailey
A Fixture
Hey, I wanted to share a new project from Miniature Mentor. I'm not affiliated with them, but I hadn't seen an announcement here yet and thought it might be of interest to some of you.
The project is a set of 5 figures basic anatomy figure (each with a different body type) that you can sculpt on top of to create your own unique pieces. It also comes with 9+ hrs of sculpting tutorial video and 4+ hrs of painting video. They're working with a superhero theme, but I see no reason why most of the figures couldn't be used for historical, fantasy, and sci-fi pieces either. Well, one of the five bodies might be a bit too exaggerated for historical, but the other four certainly could work.
The project is currently being run through indiegogo. You pledge now and the figures are shipped this coming March. They said they plan to offer them through regular retail as well, but that will be a while after this first set goes out. The indiegogo price is $35 for the set of 5 (plus the tutorial videos), which is a great price for 5 75mm scale figures. Retail will be $55, so you get a discount through the pre-order. Below are some pictures and check out the link for more info.

Here is a size comparison of the figures
And here's a close up of one of their sculpts
And finally an example of what you could create
I'm not much of a sculptor, but I've always wanted to create my own figures. At least if I don't have to worry about the anatomy and faces, perhaps I'll have a fighting chance if I just have to do the clothing and equipment.
As I said, this isn't my project, but I think it's a neat idea and something I'm definitely interested in. Hopefully some of you might be interested in it as well!
