The Red Lancer and Historex Agents sell a brand called Hofi. Hofi produces large scale resin kits of interesting subjects at a very reasonable price, but the only pictures of their products I've been able to find are just artwork, no photos :( . I'm suspicious when they don't at least show a photo of a primed model so one can get an idea of the quality of the sculpting and the actual pose. I searched planetFigure for references to Hofi, but all I've been able to find are posts asking the same question I'm asking now: does anyone own one of these kits, or has anyone ever built one , or has anyone seen an actual kit? If so, what are your thoughts on the quality of the sculpting and casting?

Even a link to a photo of a completed figure at a show would be appreciated.

I have only made one of their kits and have another tucked away somewhere. They use several types of resin in the same kit, some soft and some very hard. On the one I have completed there was a lot of mould misalignment on the horse legs and the main & tail had hundreds of little resin balls moulded in, which I am told is caused by not degassing the mould.

For the price and if you don't mind a bit of work then they are not too bad especially if you cann't find the subject from another manufacturer. Here's a pic of mine, see what you think.

Thanks for the information, guys. The pics were especially helpful.

Jason, that's a nice job you did on the samurai (y) . I'll bet cleaning up the mane and tail was quite a chore!
