Can anyone recommend a good store to purchase figure kits in Hong Kong.

I'll be there next week for a conference and it would be a pity not to have a browse and pick up a few figures.

Any suggestions? Any Hong Kong Planeteers want to catch up with me while I'm in town?

Sorry Tony, I have no info for you about Hong Kong.
Sorry to hijack your thread Tony, but Einion, if you read this, what's the price level for Dragon kits in HK? Don't they come from there? I'm thinking this translates into nice prices...?

Cheers,
Adrian

Haven't been there in many years I'm afraid. Back in my day Tamiya kits were so cheap other modellers literally wouldn't believe what I paid for them, but Hong Kong is very much more expensive now than it was. Still, I can't imagine the prices for Asian-made kits aren't quite a bit better than in the UK!

I was there back around Christmas and its pretty dry. Universal sadly was not what it was! Mong Kok was in the process of closing down and blowing out. The internet shops are hurting them as well.

A little late but?

Hi,

I was just in Hong Kong for a visit and went to a shop Toymaxco recommended here. A small shop with a lot of figure kits, busts various scales, metals and resins, and some books. I bought some Pegaso accessories.

I did randomly discover a very nice military bookshop located in a building called the Richmond Shopping Centre, Argyle St, Mong Kok.
This building is chokeful of small shops selling resin-type 1/6 figures, manga, cosplay etc.

The bookshop is located on the 3rd floor of the building.

Mr Ho is a very pleasant gentleman and has an amazing variety of books in his tiny shop. The books are all plastic-sealed for protection but he offers to open any and all books for browsing, a rare courtesy in a fast-paced world.
