Hi All

Herewith a couple of initial shots of my next project. I bought this figure when it first appeared late last year, as I liked the look of it and being it was sculpted by David Grieve, it was always going to be worth the effort.

It's retailed by Debra Raymond Figures, and is one of several British Army subjects by David G in her catalogue.

Starting with the face - oils over acrylic

Critique welcome. Apologies for the small pics - I'll get the hang of digital cameras if it's the last thing I do

He is starting to take shape Phil. The flesh looks good and we will be able to tell more when the colors around the face are done too. Keep us posted as you go. Here is a photo you posted doubled in size.

Looks very good so far Phil...I like those flesh colours.

If I can offer any help with resizing the original photo's and retaining their quality just let me know, I'll be glad to help mate.

All the best.

Roy.

Hi Roy

Thanks mate - I think I'm getting the hang of this camera of mine - I've kinda sussed out the sizing options somewhat.

Herewith a few more of the head. Better background and with the feathers and sunshade blocked in. Just noticed, no eyebrows! It wasn't THAT hot

Hi Phil, interesting subject matter, created by a great sculptor; the face looks good, ;)
Looking forward to your next step, thanks for sharing. :)

Thanks Steve - yes, I need to get the photography bit sorted. Hey, it's next month ... the wife has started packing already

Ross: This is 100mm (I think). There's no mention of scale with the figure, but I seem to remember David Grieve works at 100mm. This is his latest effort for Debra Raymond figures and it's very tightly done.

Thanks all. More follows as time allows. Anyone know where I can get tartan paint???

Phil
