I said 4-7 although it may be more.

As for favourite Manufacturers Id say:

Young Miniatures - Busts
Alpine Miniatures - 1-35th scale figures
Latorre Models - Anything he does
Pegaso - 75mm Figs

Although, to me the manufacturer is not all that important, as what matters to me is the sculptor. Sure the different casting quality matters as well, but if you have a well sculpted figure to work with the casting can be fixed.

Sculptors like Andrea Jula, Taesung Harmms, Young B Song, Latorre, Adriano Laruccia, Maurizio Bruno etc are all so inspirational, which makes me buy their figures.

vote for 4-7. Mostly it is Pegaso and Romeo.
I don't know why but they have awesome figures. Alexander Miniature's have recently the Leonidas figure and I bought that to.
So, the figure is important, not the manufacturer.

I would say between 4-7.
I prefer metal figurs above resin but most manufactures have a good or very good quality knowadays.
Best yet was a resin though; the Dante bust from Figuralia. Congrats with your gold medal for this very fine piece!

I say 2 - 4 figures although in a moment of insanity I go beyond that.
Well the the manufacturers are:

Pegaso
Viriatus
El Infante
Art Girona
Stormtroopers

Cheers.

I have to say 10 (or more)
My problem is, that I like all period figures.
The moment I see a new release, and it appeals to me, I'm lost.
(and thats the way to do to have a gray army)

My favorit manufacturers are:

Pegaso
Andrea
Young
Latorre

But sometimes I buy from an other manufacturer like Art Girona
(If the figure is created by Adriano Laruccia like his last 54mm Ramses).
But for the rest I'm like Anders, I buy from the same sculptors he does.
The best selling to me at the moment is Maurizio Bruno.
What a great gift that man has!

Roc,
Its four to seven for me,that seems to keep the ranks of
the grey army healthy.
And without a doubt the most outstanding manufacturer is Pegaso
in my opinion, closely followed by Romeo.
Others in my collection are made by Elite,Andrea and Latorre.

I'm back in active painting and buying after 2.5 years break, so I'm already over 10 this year, but this has to stop soon! Would guess 4-7 too.

My very favourite is Kirin, bad luck! :), but generally it's the figure itself, pose, details, quality what makes me buying it.
I truly admire the today's big/famous/popular companies, but due to time limits so far I'm doing modern only, so also appriciate some less popular or old ones, as SOL, Reheat, Alpha Image Workshop.

Cheers

4-7 in a good year (although I probably only finish 4-5)
For me, Andrea and Pegaso are in a tie for first place when it comes to small scale metal figures, with everyone else a distant second. I like resin for busts. The Leonidas bust I'm working on at the moment is a mix of resin and metal. Some of Verlinden's large scale resin busts are pretty good. For ANZAC's, my special subject, Phil, Walden from Masters In Miniature is the best, and Naked Army do the best very large scale figures I've ever seen.
Cheers

Ive voted 10ea or more but I buy a lof of Dragon kits for example to go with my tanks and dios in 1/35 scale. And Im not even counting 1/48 and 1/72 scale figures.

When it comes to traditional figures I like Andre the most for the variation of their subject and Pegaso for their quality. On the other hand there are many other good manufacturers out there and I think Andrea and Pegaso get a lot of votes because of their big range.

Cheers

I have voted four to seven figures a year, the more shows I attend the more figures I buy.

By favorite manufactures in order of priority are:
1- Pegaso
2- Romeo
3-Andrea
4- Michael Roberts

Cheers

Hi
I voted 4 to 7.....my wife said .. what about the Flats

Er... they dont count on this Poll

So leaving them aside ...

favourite manufactures are Andrea Pegaso Metal Models
and recently discovered JMD miniatures

My choice of subject is based on how expressive the figure is rather than period

My buying habbits are certainly not in check! If I like it well enough, I beg, or borrow to try and get it. eBay is the bane of my existence! Guy (and my wife) will attest to that! HA! I have to admit, although I'm basically interested in anything that catches my eye, I think I'd have to say that Young's busts are my abosolute favorites. Consistenly well sculpted, well cast and well packaged. Nuf said!

Competition or what?

.......so now I know who keeps outbidding me!
Seriously though, Pegaso are consistently the best. No question, other manufactures are not as consistent. Metal Modeles are a very close second. The only thing that may score against them is that their faces are a bit 'the same'. Still love their stuff. Shame I can't paint it!

I chose 8-10 figures "traditional" figures a year. I easily bought half of that number at the Chicago show alone! I buy pretty much all the dragon figure sets that come out as I still am an armour modeller at heart and like to include these with the tanks I sometimes do. I really like the Young busts right now, I have been steadily collecting these busts. They are done so well and are in some periods that I really enjoy. Alpine is great also. Much like some of you I just get a figure if it apeals to me and is done well. But if I have to pick favorites I would go with in no particular order-
Young Busts
Alpine
Latorre
Ultracast (pilot figures especially)

Good poll

I used to buy a lot, my favourites Soldiers, Pegaso, Poste Militaire, Elite. Nowadays I am getting more choosy, infact this year was a siad one infact maybe less then 3 ... personally much is coming out but nothing t hype about that much IMO, personally this year only 1 figure is making me part from my money, Commodus by Pegaso. On the oother hand I am inclined to the dark side of 1/35 figures and people like Alpine are doing Masterpieces!
