Ok, it's apparently been way to long since I've painted a highlander although I have a 54mm (Latorre) and the 120mm Carl Reid standard bearer on my desk.

I barely remember the "trick" of penciling dots... any help please?

Thanks,

Kevin D.

If they're Jacobites you have quite a bit of leeway since they're not really wearing uniform. Use your references, a lot of people do the chequering too small, which means they have more to paint. Remember there's a seam at the back so the pattern doesn't continue all the way round. I find it easier to draw the pattern in faint pencil lines first. Good luck.

I wouldn't use the Angelfire link for hose, it shows them on their side.

This is the front and back images of military footless hose, other colours were used but usually to the same pattern.
