How to remove primer

HI!

How do I remove the primer of a figure?? Alcohol is very hard. . . is there something else?

What I use every time & works great is "Dawn Power Dissolver" (from Wal-Mart). Let it soak for a 10 - 15 minutes, use a soft - medium toothbrush, and you're good to go. Sometimes a second application might be necessary. Nail polish remover works as well, I just can't deal with the smell.

Note: some primers such as Gunze, Floquil can be pretty tough and require more applications and scrubbing (light/soft scrubbing).

Airbrush cleaner also work, the one from Revell works great on metal and resin.

I always used Mr Muscle (ovencleaner). Put the figure into a small plastic container with a lid. It stays there overnight. The other day with a toothbrush and some dishwashsoap the figure is stripped to the bare metal or resin.

Thanks for the advice! I already removed the primer, but there are some parts which are dificult to clean. This happens to you?? Does it do diference for future priming and painting??

Hi Pedro,
yes it does, sometimes - you can re apply the Mr Muscle and repeat the process if there are difficult areas, but make sure that the model is completely dry before re applying, otherwise it doesnt work! Once it is cleaned, you shouldnt have any problem repainting.
