Following on from my previous post a short while ago I am now in the final throws of completing this slightly arrogant chap from the 3rd Hussars....again this is another one in the hussar series from Gordon Mitchell...

For those fellow plastered who are interested in the oil colour mixes I used the following...

For the uniform grey I mixed...blue black..with Payne's grey and a touch of indigo......then white was added until you reach the relevant colour......shading with original mix...wet on wet.....highlights simply adding more white to your uniform colour..again wet on wet.

After drying reinforcing the lights and shades ...wet on dry.....

Having admired the many great painted figures presented this year, I'd have to rate this figure as one of the best shown. The figure presents as a real live human being. Great.

Looks the dogs Mike. I like what you've done with the sabretache and the braiding looks immaculate. The pigtails are a very nice touch. I've just had a look at my half finished one and am now depressed...thanks.
Great stuff
Gordon

Crikey it's a bit more than just gorgeous isn't it.
I have the full length version of this and can't wait to get
a chance to begin it.

Wonderful.
