And the Scale 75 Steampunk book is on its way for my birthday ( which is today ).

No complaints.

My have got 3 watches for the last 3 years , I just don't understand women
Its almost like they get upset if they know your happy
( I think she might be sleeping with a watch salesperson) I wouldn't mind if she just got me the model I wanted :)

I had sweaters for the first five years we were together, for Christmas and birthday! I plucked up the courage to ask her if she had EVER seen me wearing one, at ANY time, ANYWHERE?! - the sweaters stopped!!(y)

I wish she was sleeping with the hobby shop owner near me :)
He is overweight and looks like a German sausage so that would be even better;)

Most of the presents I get go straight into my goodbye draw. Its a draw I rarely open, normally only after my birthday and Christmas. The funny thing is she never asks the day/week/year after.....hey where is that present I got you.

Not many hobby shops left here in Brisbane I'm afraid, and the ones that are left a little on the shite side.
I ended up buying myself the Red Lancer 120mm kit, got my youngest to wrap it and put a name tag on it (she got a kick out of that) just so I could open it on Christmas day. I got a bit of a suprise as I hadn't set my eyes on it properly before hand. I'll never knock back any decent clothes, or Whisky for that matter gents, I'm easy ;)
Chris.

It's been over 24 hours now since we all opened our xmas stockings with all our new kits and goodies and yet.......

There's none of it listed in market and commissions yet for resale.

What happened folks........

Are we getting so much better at recieving what we ask for?....

Or ordering our own gifts

Paul.

Precisely. I haven't asked for, nor gotten, anything related to this hobby or any other of my hobbies, since I was in high school (class of 1982). Back then, though, I got each of Monogram's large aircraft kits, over the course of several years. But that was easy enough to ask. When I got back into modeling and painting figures, my tastes were so eclectic, and the sources so difficult for someone outside the hobby to know or understand, that I didn't ask for anything. Basically, Christmas was mostly a disbursal of my annual clothing issue. And now that my grandmother and my mother have passed on, I have to take care of outfitting myself. Not that it's expensive or anything, I just never thought about it before.

Prost!
Brad

Quote of Christmas was while youngest daughter (age 19) was watching The Sound of Music.

Towards the end when the von Trapp's were making their escape someone said that Stormtroopers were searching for them.

"Why did they say stormtroopers? They weren't invented till the 1970's"

"What?"

"There weren't any stormtroopers till Star Wars".

:wideyed:
