Hi guys, some time ago im working in the private collection from a good friend, and the subject is WWII germans, a lot of them, like 25 figures in 120mm, now i can`t remember the last time i mix field grey in oils, so if you can tell me some suggestions, would be nice for me.

Thanks
Cheers
Ed

I use a mix of W&N Prussian Green, Raw Umber, and Titanium White as a base coat. Naples Yellow and Titanium White progressively lightened for the highlights and Mars Black, Prussian Green, and the tiniest amount of Prussian Blue for the shadows. HTH.

A ver Edson, alli te va:

Saludos paisa

Hi Edson, another approach you might like to consider is to mix a green of about the right hue from whatever yellow and blue you like (Ultramarine is a good choice as it helps the mix dry matt and a good opaque yellow like Cad Yellow won't hurt) and then blend it with a simple black + white mixture until the colour looks grey enough.

Here's another mix. Blue/Black, Winsor Blue and Cadmium Yellow mixed to a medium dark blue-green for the basic colour; shade with Blue/Black and highlight with Titanium White.
