It's great watching this lovely diorama come to life! Really impressive progress since last looking! The snow looks very beautiful, but that's much to cold for me 🥶.

Regards,

Thanks Phil.
Here's a photo to warm you up....

I assume you meant the green on the figure, the wine bottle looks great! I agree artistic licence is the creators perogative, it makes modelling so much more fun.

Cheers Simon
It turns out that it's a pretty good match and will suffice for the uniform colour.
Which is nice.
Sadly, the wine bottle is empty...

Took delivery of fifty quid's worth of "20mm" (actually slightly bigger) AB Figures from Eureka Miniatures yesterday: British Paras, German infantry in camouflage (going to paint those as Luftwaffe Field Division with auxiliary support), and a few soviet casualties.
A couple of mini dioramas to enjoy making in due course.
Absolutely loads of lovely infantry!

Interesting project, I'm sure I'll be impressed when you plaint splinter pattern and Dennison smock camouflage patterns.

Cheers Simon

I guess this now counts as "work in progress."
The intention is to put four 1/35 figs on a base with rocky terrain to represent a high altitude landscape.
It's going to take a long time, and pose some interesting challenges.
So far, the base is all that's underway: plywood, polyfiller, laminate, coffee shop stirrers for trench revetments, and Milliput sandbags - there's gonna be a lot of those

Looking forward on seeing the finished figures. ICM has some nice sets out there but I'm curious about the quality of them. Looks like a big project. Keep up the good work!

Especially in 1/72..!
I couldn't find any of these subjects in 1/35 or 54mm.
Ah but it's the challenge that makes it worth the effort, amazingly there is a huge variety of subjects available in this scale. Though having attended a few 'war games' shows there is a huge following, much more than at other modelling shows, same goes for model railways, are we a dying breed?

Cheers Simon

They seem to be varied. Perhaps the earlier sets are better?
French line infantry and Zouaves are good, as is this Italian set. Union infantry and German Stormtroopers are mediocre.
