I just came upon this figure & was wondering what he is & who made this figure? He looks to be 80-85mm (90mm to top of head)
thx if you can shed light.

Surely it's a 90mm Chota Sahib. Much rarer that the 54mm and never considered as good. That uniform I have never seen. Not in those colours. If it was in a very dark blue with black decoration, I'd say it was a Victorian hussar officer. I've never seen it depicted this way though.

Hi,
If not the Corps of Guides maybe a British Officer with The Central Indian Horse. The Central Horse wore a drab-light khaki uniform with a burgundy red trim on collar and cuffs. The style of jacket worn has an air of a frock coat abut it, but is much shorter than the examples seen e.g. on Uniformology.
Is there a British Indian Army buff out there_
Good Luck with the hunt.

Anciens catalogues retirés, les moules et licences sont maintenant la propriété de Mr Maxime Jouhan Chevallier

Now propertiy mr Mr ...;.;

Value is a very relative concept with such a figure.

It is not one of Sid's best, but may still interest a collector of course.

Painting is neat but not spectacular, nor is the uniform, so high hopes of fetching a fortune might be unrealistic.

cheers,

Pierre
