Hi all,

I started this last year and finally finished it. It’s my largest diorama to date and I had a box and frame made for this

Figures were converted , sculpted from many sources. Castings were made of freely sculpted figs to add to the scene.

Thanks for yr very generous remarks.

When I build my shadowboxes, I try to identify the key elements that I want to capture. Realism and fidelity to the original painting, and the essence of the scene. As it was a huge procession on a dry dusty plain, it made sense to me that the dust cloud had to be modelled. I had to search around for the most suitable coloured wool before I could add it to the scene.
