Whilst waiting for the numerous washes on my Paras to dry, (and whilst the mojo is flowing), I've started the Lumberjack by Scientific Models. A lovely sculpt, of a rare subject, which I had to have when I saw it.
I'm using only LifeColor paints for this one, apart from Army Painter Barbarian Flesh, and mayby a few washes for Citadel and Vallejo.

I've started with his shirt.

Nice one Henk but he's gonna need a bigger chopper than that!

Cheers Simon

Oh matron....

. True, it looks like an odd size, a bit big for a hatchet, and too small for a felling axe. At least he's not carrying it jauntily over his shoulder

Thanks Kevin. Yes, axes and swords should always be covered when not in use.

Oh, enough now...

Nice start, I like the work on the shirt. Nice choice of base as well.

Thanks Nigel, I asked Richard (Oakwood Studios) specifically for "some nice wood, showing some bark and nice grain, if he had something laying about". Boy, did he come up trumps... It's a beautifull piece of Bog Oak. I'm purposely mounting the bust a little higher, and slightly set back, to show it off. And seeing as the backpack is nicely done too, I'm thinking of getting one of them spinning around dsiplays, to show it off.

Motoring along, I've blocked in his vest/cutoff, and I'm getting along with the face. Need to tidy up the eyes, and start to detail the beard.
I like the contemplative look on his face. Work in the woods is done for the season, and he needs to go back to 'civilization', and people....

(I hate digital photography.... So many little things I've now noticed, that need to be fixed... )

Always need a last minute fiddle with stuff, yeah sometimes it's hard to put it down when things are going well.

Cheers Simon
