Well done fabrizio1969, the creamish tone of the breeches and lapels is very accurate, but according Rousselot, the vest was in the same tone also.

Fabrizio you have done a wonderfull job!! I like it very much.
I think the whites are both very nice, and personally I like to see
different shades for the breeches and upper cloth, it adds more constrast
to the figure, despite the accuracy of it like Eduardo said.
I just think you could add a high highlight on the colpack braid, with a
mix of the colour you used with a light cream. I believe it would look
even better!

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this website and was hoping that I could pick up some tips on painting flesh tones since that has be my main weakness when painting figures. Also, I mainly paint my figures with Americana acrylic paints which for a 2oz bottle its only .75 cents. compared to the Vallejo I was using which was costing me around $4.00.

Fantastic job Fabrizio... I agree with Colin F on this one, this is probably one of the best Guardsman I've ever seen done. Hands down!
All the whites are excellent, the blue coat is spot on, the fleshtones are very lifelike and the bearskin is outstanding!!!

All round gold medal work

Chris I suggest you post under the general section for new members for general advice. Not many will see your request here. I assume you are speaking of craft store acrylics. If so, they can't be used the same as vallejos....perhaps a false economy?

Colin

Colin,
Sorry for the misposting and yes its a lot like tempra paints.
Chris

Chris, i red your post about primers, i think the chipping paint problem you have is not the primers, is the tempera you are using.
sometime is worth spending a little extra and get good paints .
you could try citadel or Andrea acrylics.
sorry for this oisting but j6st trying to help.
now, back to the subject, fabrizio, i would love to see a step by step on how you paint faces, this figure looks awesome, top knotch.
best regards
