Hello,

I have been one of the fortunate few who have seen Luis's figure "in the flesh" (well, resin actually - Luis has not , as yet, managed to turn miniature figures into Lilliputians ). This is a very promising project.
I would say that the eyes look better when seen "live", both in size and in colour; it could be because of the magnification (?). I was for keeping the colour as it is, I think it is natural enough; I just suggested Luis to drop a little gloss varnish on the eye, so adding a glimmer of life.
Also, the armour has (to me at least) a very realistic finish. It looks like real metal.

(Well, Luis, next drinks are on you, as agreed)

Some excellent painting work there, on what is possibly the best Landsknecht figure money can buy (I think the PiLiPiLi landsknecht has the edge over the White Models Landsknecht). How did you do that metal? Beautiful!

As for the flag, how about the Imperial banner of Emperor Charles V ? I guess that would be historically accurate, no? Well I'm not sure, just a suggestion...

Anyway, great stuff, keep it coming!! (y) (y) (y)

Luis,

It looks great so far (y) (y).

The draping is very convincing and your White Milliput/Duro mix is more than a stroke of luck because it makes the finished flag thinner and more resistant to breakage.

As for the eyes, from what I can see from your pic, it mostly needs the shadow of the eyelid on the eyeball (a thin dark line under the upper eyelid). May be it would not be necessary to darken the pupil once the shadow is added.

FYI, I DID make a flag as an option for the polearm but had to discard it for a stupid reason. It didn't fit in the box!

Great metal effect, as already been pointed out. (y)

The cuirass was painted with Gunze Sangyo's Mr. Metallizer lacquers. Painting with them is a little tricky, but the results are incredible. Once finished, it looks polished metal rather than painted resin!!. Give them a try.

Augie Rodriguez published an in-depth article in one of his forums about the use of those paints (sorry, i don't remember whero to find it, you can see an Spanish version at Lilliput), and i've tried to follow his technique, though i did stop mid way, only highlights and shadows. He goes further on to depict fresh rust, rust and blood stains, rub marks, etc.
