You're right Hendryk. I will be having an experiment with acrylic slow drying medium when I get home from this trip to sea to see if it helps with my blending.

I looked at this photo for the month I was away at work :-/

This is how it is looking after a repaint. I got some acrylic fluid retarder and am pretty happy with the results so far. It was much easier to blend the highs and lows of the flag.
