A great thanx to the organisers of the Ingolstadt show and the super hospitality they showed to the Scottish contingency ,a very big thank-you to the two Carstan's ,Ulrich and Hendryk Schroder for his kid gift of a Scottish flat fig to the booze gang

Ron

I'd like to echo Rons sentiments and thank Micheal, Carsten and Karsten along with the rest of their team for their hospitality and their skills in organising a thoroughly modern and genuinely friendly model show. Also a thanks to great group of traders who were very much involved with the success of the show and the social atmosphere.
It was great to meet, drink and dine with some of our painting heroes, Massimo Pasquali, Marion and Alan Ball, Marco Lambertucci and Aleksander Michelotti to name a few. Each were extremely generous with their time and advice and were great company.
A very big thanks to Hendryk for his kind gift of a flat of a Scottish soldier playing an electric guitar, this will be great fun to paint.
One of the great things was having the opportunity to discuss master painters work with them explaining their techniques, a particular mention here to Goetz and Nicole Seipmann.
Can't wait 'til next year.
Cheers
Derek

I recognise to whom belongs these 3 dsplays, anyway it's easy to guess that there's an Scottish painter around just for the DEL Nameplate Systems©....:DGreat work everybody!!

Displays are from bottom to top, just for a change:) Dells superb gold winning display in the standard painting ,David Mitchells silver award in the masters , and my display also .

Ingolstadt is cracking place and we landed right in the beer festival :D

The Redoubt where the show was is also a military museum with some great stuff ,and a very sobering display of world war one pictures

I also had a fantastic weekend and would echo Del and Rons comments , a superb show with great hospitality from all our German and Italian friends.

Also got to mention my two fellow drinking companions Del &Ron cheers ,we will have to start planning our next trip soon!

Congrats guys and it does look a wonderful place for a show
Steve

Hi Steve, Ingolstadt is a cracking venue for a show. This year it had to move to the Redoubt Tilly from the Schloss which is undergoing extensive renovation prior to a major event next year celebrating Napoleon in Bavaria.
It's amazing how when admiring the architecture of the Redoubt you become aware of the 'mathematics' involved in it's design. Basically you could be shot from every possible angle and if you made it anywhere near the walls you would be scythed down by enfilade fire from the guns.
The town has a lot of history other than it's military past. The Beer Purity Law 'Reinheitsgebot' was formalised here in 1516 and during this years beer festival we were drinking in the medieval beer hall and all along the pedestrian centre which is pretty much given over to beer drinking.

It is also a famous university city and is where Mary Shelley set Frankenstein.......... if you are quiet you can sometimes sneak up on the increasingly rare sleeping Igor.

Just been hearing about the troops today. Very well done indeed. Dell did very well for a nicely turned out display, and the best nameplates. Ron and Davie also did well and I believe their hosts were super! Plenty of people, lots of models, great venue and super hosts, what more can anyone ask for!

Well done lads.

Don

Your 3 displays are looking good boys. You should be proud in representing Scotland, oops I mean the U.K.
