Is this figure commercially available?

Roy Hunt posted several pics of this figure in the Euro 2005 gallery on his website (wonderful pics, Roy!). Can anyone tell me who sculpted it, and is it commercially available? If it's commercially available, who did this particular example?

I saw this figure at Euro and it is an awesome paint job. I wondered at the time if it is available commercially. I didn't see any available at Euro but she could be a future release.

Hi Mike...don't know the sculptor but I 'think' this piece and another samurai figure (dressed in brown and grey & drawing a sword) in amongst my photo gallery for Euro were both painted by Diego Ruina, it was rumoured they may be among Pegaso's next batch of releases..but it's not a certainty as far as I know. It's certainly a lovely little 54mm.

I know exactly what you mean Matthew...it was really impressive, and luckily I had the opportunity to take pictures from several different angles...it's a little beauty sure enough.

It's certainly a lovely little 54mm.

I had convinced myself this was a 90mm figure. That's quite an amazing paint job!

This one was entered in category 4 so it would have been 75-90mm. I also think the painter was from Russia. Diego did the 90mm Samurai in class 2.

Still he packed a lok of detail in a small area

It was sculpted by Victor Konnov who does most of the Pegaso Samurai so could well be a future release.

I was speaking to one of the Judges that I know and he said it was a close contender for BOS but lost out on a show of hands.

Sorry to mislead any of you guys....I can't be sure who the painter was for definate...as I said, I 'think' it was painted by Diego, but that was only from memory, maybe someone who knows for sure will help us out. Whoever it was done themselves proud.
Hi Scott, I reckon you are correct that it was indeed in class 4...but that class is for converted/scratchbuilt foot figures upto 65mm, so I believe it wasn't any larger than 65mm.

Hi, i was there to, sorry for raining on your parade but it was an older couple that enterd the 2 japanes figure's. I loved it to, so i got a picture of it.

Don't know if it has been painted by Diego, but if so there are much more intricate patterns painted by him.
Seeing the pictures resized at the approximate (real) size, one can get an idea about the painting job.

I only recall seeing one name on the card so maybe it was painted by Victor Konnov as well as sculpted?

It sure is, and actually much more refined in the flesh than my photos show. Apart from the enormous enlargement the photographic process has exagerrated the layering much more than was evident in the flesh.

Victor Konnov's name was the only one listed on the entry card so it should mean he was both the sculptor and the painter.

That is what we took it to mean and in fact the rules are very specific on this point, that's what it should mean
