Hi everyone,

I'm working now at an Ek Castings figurine depicting an Italian knight from 14 th Century. I used only Vallejo acryllics and my Leonardo brushes.
Here is my result until now, your comments more then welcome!
Cheers,
Nicolae

I started to prepare the base with some barks, white glue, Dass, Miliput and a Mat Gel Base from Vallejo (26126). On a wooden round base I fixed the pieces of barks with White Glue then I added some Dass in the cracks. In order to a better stability, I used some Miliput to fix the figurine on the high base.
Black Primer from Vallejo, then Model Wash 76.517 Dark Grey. After that a lot of work with all kind of Vallejo nuances of grey (70867 Dark Blue grey, 70870 Medium Sea Grey), lights with Light Grey. Washes with 76.527 Blue Grey, 76.512 Dark Green, 73.206 Red Shade, then pigments AK 081 Dark Earth, Vallejo 73102 Light Yellow Ochre, 73107 Dark Red Ocre, a lot of combinations. I used also some 72763 Desert Yellow; after a wash with Vallejo 73210 Black Wash, I made the lights again with Light Grey. Still a lot to do and also I had to place some vegetation.

These casting from EK are tremendous value for money.

Many are great little sculpts too.

You have done a great job here.

I really like this.

Paul.

Thank you Paul and Joe for your kind words! Still some more steps before put an end to this project.

Nice painting, creative thinking on the base. Who does the knight represent? Someone from the Battle of Grunwald?

Bob

Hi Bob, my thanks for your kind reply! As my topic title say, my figurine try to represent a 14th Century Italian knight, a Sienese one. However, the colours were my choice, I don't know exactly the heraldry of that period, even I made some research.
Cheers,
Nicolae

Here are the photos with the final stage. Hope you like!
