Thanks for the comment Marc. The effect of the painted strings is better on hand, though. In the pictures it does not look very good.

A translation of the article into English:

One of the first and most surprising figures in the Spanish maker Nocturna Models’ catalog represents a minstrel.

I find this figure surprising because it introduces a new subject in our hobby, with no military background, in-between historical and fantasy figures, with an original and attractive relaxed pose, a cynical gesture and, over all, infinite possibilities for decoration.

Such liberty to decide about the colors of his attire was one of the key points that made me paint it.

It was also of great influence that, as soon as I saw it, the character made me somewhat think about Jaskier, one of the main characters of the stupendous fantasy novels of the Witcher Geralt of Rivia series by Andrzej Sapkowski: “This time is Jaskier, your colleague, that globetrotter, that idler and slacker, such a priest of the arts, brilliant and clear star of ballads and love verses. As usual, resplendent in glory, swelled as a pig’s bladder and stinking of beer. Do you want to see him?” (The last wish, editorial bibliopolis fantástica) Note: the translation is mine, not necessarily corresponding to the original English translation. This reference obviously corresponds to the Spanish edition of the book. For some English version, please refer to http://www.amazon.com/Last-Wish-Andrzej-Sapkowski/dp/0316029181/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1303900657&sr=1-1

In spite of the reference, truth is that the final decoration does not correspond exactly to the different descriptions of the novelistic character. For personal reasons, purely aesthetic, I finally chose a striking combination of colors, yellow and blue in very luminous, even gaudy, tones. Who knows? Knowing the man, it is not an implausible attire.

In any event, I hope that you like it, and I also recommend painting the figure and reading the novels by Sapkowski. I assure you that both will provide good moments of entertainment and modelling inspiration.
