Nice work overall Steven, I like the armour especially. It may be the photo but the flesh looks a little monochromatic to me, I'd suggest a little more variety. Ditto with the hair, a little difference between beard and hair colour is common, not to mention that he'd probably show some grey at the age he's depicted.
On a historical note, with figures from this period I would make an effort to ensure that the heraldry on shield and surcoat/jupon aren't this close. In addition to the technical difficulty in getting colours to match (pigment v. dye) the treatment of embroidered/applique charges should be quite evident in comparison to their painted counterparts on the shield. The painted surface of shields I think should also have some sheen as a rule, which if nothing else help differentiate them from the typical matt finish we use for fabrics.
