Dear Planeteers,

recently it is reported that Joe Cocker died of cancer at the age of 70 years today.

I am very sad, because his music has accompanied me throughout my life - since 2004 especially while I am painting.

In the 80s, when I was a journalist, I got the opportunity to drink a beer with him after a concert in Goslar, and I met a man of great wit and a dust-dry humor, he was so nothing star-like and gave himself as he was.

His music will myself accompany on mainly.

Between these two videos is a great artist's life ...:

Sad regards

I saw him in concert about 25 years ago. I was only about 50 feet away from him. Something I'll never forget. Thanks Joe and RIP!

One of the great. A great loss for the musicworld.
Saw him for the first time on the white screen when I saw my first movie namely Woodstock 1969. Since then I whas hooked on this man.
His raw voice, "uncontrolled" move's.
He whas something special and should not be forgotten.

Martin,
You were lucky to have met him,....he always came across as a great guy, and I have most of his recordings, including the White Album on vinyl. Losing many of our heroes, especially at this time of year, seems to intensify the sense of loss.
Requiescat in pace.

Alan
