Having been under fire I know that you are not going by the book when taking cover etc... but while having spotted something and trying to silence your team I wonder if you would put your weapon in the left hand, raise it upwards, turn away from the danger and rest your left leg on the roots of that tree - ouch! What about taking cover at the foot of the tree - eyes and weapon on the enemy and raising a clenched fist with the left?
IMHO the pose is closer to stances of memorial sculptures (and Hollywwod characters) - not real soldiers in combat.
This aside I like what was acchieved by Frank.

to be clear : i enjoyed painting this fig, as I took it for a training exercise, i'm not considering myself a sculptor.
when i did realize the amount of corrections to be added in order to be historically accurate I choosed to go the hollywood way, with pleasure i must admit
